Experiência fantástica: Lovely visit to the Texas Quilt Museum! Deborah led our tour and was so vivacious and friendly. The exhibits are stunning and displayed nicely. The library is such a treasure. We also walked to the historic court house which was amazing. Also check out the garden, so beautiful.

Experiência fantástica: We had a great time visiting this museum. Even my husband who is not a quilter enjoyed the exhibits. The docents were very knowledgeable and helpful. The entrance fee of $10 a person seems a bit high for the size, but we did enjoy the visit.

Experiência fantástica: This museum is absolutely delightful. It is small, but there are 3 full galleries and each of them have changing exhibits. They even have a lovely little garden.

Experiência fantástica: What a wonderful experience! The quilt exhibit was so beautiful and there is a stunning amount of research available on quilting in the library. They even have storytime for kids at 3 on Saturdays. The gift store had great selections and don't miss Grandma's Garden next door! My Mom loved her visit ❤️

Experiência fantástica: I absolutely loved admiring the spectacular quilts on display. This exhibit showcasing All Creatures Great and Small is wonderful- I would post more photos, but I want to encourage you to go and see for yourself the beautiful works. The staff were friendly and spoke with us about both the building and the quilts. The only thing I would have liked to see that wasn’t there was where each quilt was made.

Experiência fantástica: We drive from Austin to La Grange at least three times a year specifically to visit THE TEXAS QUILT MUSEUM. Always a fabulous show and the All Creatures Great & Small exhibit and the main gallery selection of animal quilts is just wonderful! The small side gallery has a collection of handmade quilts from 1820 to about 1930. Also a great exhibit! JUST GO ... and ENJOY!

Experiência fantástica: Love love love the Quilt museum.. so many different styles by different textile artists. The memorial in gallery 2 was such a beautiful sentiment to a very talented artist. The use of beads in her work blew me away. I recommend anyone interested in quilts to visit. They change out their exhibits . Going into the resource/ library was so interesting. Was able to admire fabric pieces from 1700s-1800s. My favorite was a beautiful French blue toille (spelling). Make sure to visit the Grandmother's Garden.. breathtaking and so peaceful.

Experiência fantástica: Gardens outside were nice. Well curated exhibits that change every three months, I believe. Loved the artist's collection (can't recall his name) of quilts on exhibit. They were really works of art. My only regret is that photos weren't allowed. It would have been nice to show people what I saw. Words just don't cut it.

Experiência fantástica: Beautiful art work in the quilts. Most are not meant for a bed but for hanging on a wall. When you see a hanging that contains 32,000 pieces sewn in it, you are looking at wonderful craftsmanship as well. Displays in the 3 galleries change 4 times/yr. Well worth visiting 4 times every year.

Experiência fantástica: This was a revelation and a wonderful artistic experience! They have numerous quilts, some up to a hundred and fifty years old or more... Very interesting and beautiful. The variety and incredible craftsmanship is breathtaking. Also, they have a small but charming gift shop and helpful docents on staff. There is an admission charge, and you are asked not to use your camera. There are clean restrooms on site. If you have an interest in art, American folk heritage, or just skill and beauty... You should stop in to this Hidden Gem. Next door is a lovely garden area and ample street parking nearby.

Experiência fantástica: The Quilt Museum is a great place to see some beautiful and amazing quilts up close. Next door is a fabric and yarn shop. Down the street is a coffee shop. On the other side of the quilt shop is a flower garden and additional parking. The flower garden has covered area with benches, so bored husband can hang out. Thru the year the Quilt Museum changes the displays. It is a great day outing

Experiência fantástica: Even if you are not a quilter, this place is awesome. The current exhibit is like visiting an art gallery. Such creative artists with ideas that would never even cross my mind. Beautiful work. There is a small gift shop where you can pick up small items that are sure to make great Christmas gifts for your artsy or quilter friends. Docent was friendly and informative. She will use her white gloves to flip quilts to show the back (which is often as creative as the top). $10 admission $8 for seniors & military.

Experiência fantástica: It was a wonderful place for any Quilter or non-quilter to step into! The attendants were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the latest show that was there. Experiência fantástica: The quilts were stunning! They told us we could get our picture made near our favorite and it took us over an hour and a half to find our favorite. They have a rotating guest section that was fascinating! I love the video of her process of designing kaleidoscope type quilts. If you like quilts and artwork, this is your place!

High quality quilts, of course, and you might be surprised how interested you are in the art. The docents there are always friendly whenever I visit, and they do have some higher-profile quilters featured.
