Experiência fantástica: One of the best museums I've been to in Baltimore and I've been to pretty much all of them.

Experiência fantástica: Deep in history of art and culture, with an wide collection and welcoming staff. There are furnitures, silver sets, weapons, costumes, dolls and more. I enjoyed the exhibition the most, and the opportunity to weave. There is also a play area for little visitors. There is on site parking (first come first serve). Thank you for having us.

Experiência fantástica: This a rich and deep museum that covers a wide variety of topics related to Maryland arts and culture. Each floor has its own topic and the exhibits and accompanying content help give them more context for the viewer to understand. The "Passion and Purpose" exhibit was so powerful and I enjoyed learning about Black History and progression. The "Jim Henson Exhibition" on the second floor was AWESOME. You got to see Muppets, Sesame Street and more of Henson's iconic puppet characters. The depth and detail the tell about Henson and his work is really amazing, and they have even more interesting things in the gift shop. The little sitting area at the back of the third floor is also fun and has great books for one to sit and enjoy. This is a great museum in the city that will have plenty for all to enjoy, no matter the age!

Experiência fantástica: This is a great museum covering multiple floors and a lot of history! At the moment, the Jim Henson exhibition is on, which is fantastic and covers his range of work via video, puppets and even some costumes from Labyrinth! The entry charge is a little higher due to this exhibition. There are also the permanent galleries on Revolution, civil rights, and Maryland history too. Don't miss the third floor as it has a great exhibition on furniture with a scale model of a circus that's a lot of fun! There's a lift to the floors as well as a gift shop down on the lower level. It's worth going through the gift shop as they always have quite an eclectic range!

Experiência positiva: The Maryland Center for History and Culture in Baltimore offers a unique perspective on the state's history, but it falls short in a few areas. Firstly, the price is quite high, making it less accessible to a broader audience. Secondly, there's a noticeable lack of engaging activities or exhibits that could enhance the visitor experience. Overall, my visit was neither exceptional nor disappointing. It's a decent place to explore Maryland's history, but it doesn't leave a lasting impression. Given the limited offerings, it would be beneficial if admission were free or more reasonably priced to encourage wider participation and engagement with Maryland's rich heritage.

Experiência fantástica: Another example of all the great (and overlooked) museums in Baltimore. Don't miss the impressively in-depth tiny circus model in the back (same side as the elevator) of the top floor, past all the elaborate furniture.

Experiência fantástica: I just visited here with my husband to enjoy the Jim Henson exhibit and we had a wonderful time!!! This was my first time at this museum, and I definitely see myself coming back for future exhibits. The lady at the front desk was very nice, as was a very sweet security lady named Ms. Betty! The bathrooms were super clean, the exhibit spanned several rooms and kept me occupied with all the props, videos and costumes on display, and the gift shop was super nice too! All in all, I give this place a 10/10 and can't wait to come back!!

Experiência fantástica: An amazing museum. The Jim Henson exhibition is temporary, so are it before it leaves. The more permanent installations are also excellent and worth going for. You'll need a couple hours to take it all in properly, and you could spend more time than that if you want to read every plaque. Great price. Friendly staff.

Experiência fantástica: Interesting museum with a wide variety of exhibits (all exquisitely curated) involving much of Maryland's history. Some revolutionary war stuff, some civil rights movement stuff, some fashion stuff, some artsy furniture stuff. Went there for Jim Henson exhibit and was not disappointed. Go check it out!

Experiência positiva: Overall the museum is interesting and the majority of the displays are well laid out. I’d definitely recommend going here, especially if you are a fan of early American art; they have a lot of Peale paintings. They also have free parking behind the building. I only gave 4/5 stars because unfortunately the activism exhibit couldn’t be enjoyed by us. The word layout seemed chaotic and it was hard to read because different paragraphs were so close to each other it appeared as one confusing, long, run on sentence. It wasn’t very dyslexic or sight impaired friendly. I’d still recommend the museum as the rest was spot on and fascinating.

Experiência fantástica: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a clean museum and the exhibits were well designed and easy to explore. I went to see the Jim Henson Exhibition which was amazing to see, and I would recommend it to any fan of his works.

Experiência fantástica: Had some really different cultural and historical exhibits from revolutionary pieces to the Jim Henson exhibition (which was fabulous) and some old art from the 17th to 19th century and s mastodon skeleton

Experiência positiva: It was a nice musame that didn't cost much but it was mostly furniture for the area with the most interesting pieces being replicas. Worth the stop if your in the area but not the main attraction.

Opening September 10, 2021.

Experiência fantástica: Come to the MCHC and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere as the history of Marylanders from across the State of Maryland is celebrated. It is a place to marvel at collected art, textiles documents and other items of historic value. Learn, be enlightened and spend a few hours stepping back in history! BTW the gift shop holds lots of treasures!

Experiência fantástica: Fascinating and underrated museum exploring a lot of Baltimore/Maryland’s history and culture. This place is off the beaten path so isn’t on the radar for either tourists or locals but is definitely worth a visit.

Experiência fantástica: Definitely worth a visit of several hours. Honest, no punches held exhibit on the civil war and racism. Great exhibit of period clothing, with backstories on the garments. Many fine artifacts from a range of subjects, from native items to everyday prosaic goods.

Experiência negativa: I have to say it was not the best, the staff was rude to my sister and me and we had to leave her backpack on the floor near the desk because they didn't have any lockers and wouldn't let her take it inside, she even offered to let him check it before going in and before coming out to make sure whatever he thought was going to be stolen wasn't and he said no. He than said he couldn't make sure things weren't taken from her bag. This was after we had already paid.

Maryland has such a rich and colorful past it's worth spending a lot more than a day here. The folks here who work here couldn't be more helpful and the exhibits are really informational and easy to use. First-rate!

Experiência fantástica: Baltimore's true diamond in the rough. To the east are wonderful neighborhoods, to the west you really don't want to go there. The museum was wonderful but the staff and police seem not to care about the homeless man living on the porch of the Pratt House or the condition of the house of their biggest benefactor. This place could be so much better.
