Experiência negativa: No one is at the front so it’s very difficult to get there on time if you have mobility challenges or are older. Plus Boston weekend traffic is always a disaster. We paid, couldn’t get there on time and no one opened the door. Could be great but it’s a hassle.

I've lived in and around Boston for over a decade now, this was the first I had heard of this museum and I'm so glad I got to see it. Most of the original house was left untouched, 80% from what I recall, it's a must-see. The tour was great and thorough. Keep an eye open for interesting letters, tools/knicknacks, and artwork!

Experiência fantástica: This Victorian townhouse museum is an absolute hidden gem and was my favorite stop on my Bookish explorations of Boston. It’s where they filmed parts of Little Women, and as a Harry Potter fan, I found it to be a perfect dupe for Grimmauld Place! Curated and donated to the public by a gay author, the house is a slice of queer history that houses three generations of Gibson family members and dozens of servants between 1859 and 1954. The Gibson House Museum is open to the public year-round by guided tour. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students, and $5 for children.

Experiência fantástica: I toured this home after visiting the Otis Mansion earlier in the day. What a difference in domestic living 60 years later, from 1796 to 1859. Carlos, our tour guide, made it come alive. Fascinating! I highly recommend.

Experiência positiva: It was a good Victorian style house that belonged to Gibson Family. It was good as there are not much Victorian style house you can find in US. The tour guide was so nice and explained everything very good. He answered all of my questions. I would have given this place 5 if it wasn't expensive. (I found it expensive as it was $8 for students and 9 or 10 for adults). This place should be visited if you are interested in different kinds of interior design and old, fancy houses. Guided tours take about an hour and cost $9 which goes towards upkeep of this stately old mansion, but because of the way everything has been left undisturbed over the years, it literally feels like the inhabitants have just stepped out for a bit and could return at any moment.
