Experiencia fantástica: It’s a good photography museum if you’re into photos. There were three exhibitions when I visited. I’ve learned about nature, life and history.

Experiencia fantástica: Japanese photography has received global attention for its range of diverse, surreal, innovative, and exciting voices. The place to see and explore this visual art form is at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in Meguro, which was the first of its kind built in Japan. Amusingly enough, it also calls itself the ‘Top Museum,’ which if nothing else is a rather memorable moniker. Those wishing to learn more about Japanese photography in general should pay a visit to the library on the fourth floor. It’s free and open to the public, with a good selection of reference materials, though these are primarily in Japanese. The museum also organizes lectures, workshops and photography-related events from time to time. Entrance fees vary by exhibition, so be sure to check their website before visiting.

Experiencia fantástica: went there for e-motion graphics exhibition, contain a lot of wonderful artwork that might we see on sci-fi movies, this one ended 21st of February. Now they have another exhibition and the entrance fee is free, helpful staff. Because of corona prevention you might need to do a reservation online for a smooth and better experience before visiting the museum.

Experiencia fantástica: Lovely museum. They had 3 exhibitions going on while I was there (one at each level) and you could choose which ones you wanted to visit. One exhibition cost around 1000 yen, 2 around 1500 yen and 3 at 2000 yen. I love the photography exhibition about Tokyo the most. The prints were beautiful and impressive. They also allow cameras. Makes for a great visit if you are popping by the area!

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best photography museums I have visited. I was thoroughly impressed by the featured exhibits and their emphasis on highlight Japanese photographers. I definitely came out a new fan of Japanese photographers like Eiko Yamazawa. Definitely worth a visit if you have the time. The Garden Place area is also really nice for a meal and some photos of the Tokyo Tower.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a hidden gem in Tokyo where you find a bunch of museums. It is also one of rare public museum that is completely dedicated to photography. Its collection is not as strong as other larger museums such as NYC's metropolitan but special galley exhibit often accommodates some of the best photographer's work in the world. For example, this is the place a Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado did his first Genesis tour. Check regularly what they are exhibiting. The chances you find amazing exhibition are really high! They also do public projects and workshops. Many of them are often free as well. These are great occasions not only to participate Tokyo's vast photo communities but also learn a ton from experts in person.

Experiencia fantástica: It was recently renovated. One of my favorite exhibitions is the word press photo. Sometimes, there are free exhibitions.

Experiencia fantástica: Great museum. The program of exhibitions is usually pretty interesting and the photographs are well presented. It lacks sometimes informations in English. The library is good as well if you want to know some more about the featured artists.

Experiencia fantástica: Very minimal looking, contemporary photography museum. There are multiple exhibitions to visit but you can pay for seperate ones too. The area is also very nice with lots of coffee places so it's good for a chill afternoon trip.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful exhibitions, surprisingly good support for English speakers. Every caption was neatly translated and handed out in packets. Beautiful location as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Not only is the area where the museum is housed sophisticated and fancy, but also the musuem itself. The exhibitions are also quite nice, I got lucky when we visited I got to appreciate exhibits related to my interests. The trip going here, though, is rather far but worth the time.
