Experiencia fantástica: All of the artworks in the museum's collection are of high quality. The admission fee is a little burdensome when the special exhibition is held, but it is very satisfying because it is an environment where you can enjoy it leisurely without being disturbed slowly. If I visit Tokyo again next time, I want to visit again.

Experiencia fantástica: 22/12/22 Excellent visit. The Expo on the history and art of the Paris Opera is amazing (Worth a visit for this alone.) We can thoroughly recommend the restaurant - wonderful food, impeccably served.

Experiencia positiva: The museum has lots of potential but does not deliver. Visited in November 2022, the reception of the staff was impeccable, the museum itself was almost empty. Two of the three gallery floors were all about the Paris opera, Palais Garnier, paintings of the 1800's opera stage, costumes, and all that. I found that it's just too much material for such a topic of relatively limited interest. The final floor has a more varied collection that I appreciated, impressionists, a couple Picasso's, and I liked that a lot, but unfortunately that floor has a very noisy escalator and the noise pervades the gallery floor, ruining the experience to some degree.

Experiencia fantástica: Exhibition: Two Journeys - Aoki Shigeru and Sakamoto Hanjiro. Two Japanese artists I wasn't familiar with. Shigeru's work was patchy, for me Sakamoto is the greater of the two although they both produced intriguing art. Overall an exceptional museum, though it would have been nice to see a little more of the Bridgestone Collection.

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful beautiful museum originally founded as Bridgestone Museum. Easy access from either Nihombashi station or Tokyo station (Yaesu side). The cafe-restaurant is highly recommended too but could be just a small meal for men.

Experiencia fantástica: Newly opened museum near Tokyo station (Yaesu exit), which used to be the Bridgestone museum. Beautiful and clean museum, nice place to stop by if you're in the neighborhood.

Experiencia fantástica: A surprisingly diverse collection of rare gems from early pre-modern European art as well as the 20th century masters. The collection also showcases a number of works from early 20th century Japanese painters some of which have been designated as cultural treasures by the government.

Experiencia fantástica: Great purpose-built museum, very well done. Only reopened January 19, 2020. Nice display of the materials and philosophy of the building. Six floors with escalators; top three are the galleries. Current exhibit is highlights of their collection. Mostly impressionist/modern art, but a few ancient statues, Greek vases, and Rembrandts. Each room has a theme. Bring your own smartphone and headphones to use the wifi audioguide included in admission. Photography is allowed. Great alternative to the Western Art Museum in Ueno, which is closed for remodelling except during the Olympic summer.

Experiencia fantástica: Saw the excellent Best of the Best exhibition in 2015 before the museum was closed for its major refurbishment. Will have to wait till 2019 for its re-opening.
