Experiencia fantástica: ビルの３階にありますが、美術館自体オシャレな構え。長谷川等伯、久蔵の屏風など必見の作品多数。狩野派との関係もよくわかり、勉強になりました！

Experiencia fantástica: 2022.12.24来訪。 「京都・智積院の名宝」展を鑑賞。 門外不出の襖絵が展示されている。襖絵の感慨深いところは、かつて一斉を風靡した信長、秀吉、家康のお抱え絵師たちがその技術を駆使して描いた作品が豪華絢爛であればあるほど時代を制した英雄たちの末路を考えるとその絢爛さが虚しく映ることである。 今回の展示では襖絵がメインであるが、１番印象的だったのは長谷川等伯が71歳の時に描いた十六羅漢図である。羅漢の中の一人の衣の紋様が現代的なデザインになっており目を引いた。 寺院の名宝というと仏像がメインになりがちであるが、襖絵また寺院を彩る名宝であることを再確認できた企画展である。 今回も学芸員によるレクチャーに参加したが、前回同様淀みない語り口であった。 2022.11.5来訪。 「美をつくし大阪市立美術館コレクション」展を鑑賞。 大阪市立美術館に収められた元鐘紡社長の阿部コレクション、関西信託の山口コレクションなど大阪のコレクターの所蔵品が展示されている。 14時からのレクチャーに参加したけど、学芸員の淀みない喋りが上手くて感心した。 2022.12.24来訪。 「京都・智積院の名宝」展を鑑賞。 …

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing staff. Great art and in good details. The museum was quite decorative and perfect for an exhibition

Experiencia positiva: Expect for this to be a very quiet and dark experience. If you appreciate art, you'll see some rare pieces. I paid an extra 600 yen for English translation headphones and it was worth it. While there is some English, without it I would have gotten less out of it. It would be great to incorporate something interactive during the exhibit to make it more enticing, everything was still. It was reasonably priced for what it was but not a must see destination, more something if you have extra time or it's a rainy day. The gift shop is lovely.

Experiencia fantástica: 落ち着いてて良い(ミッドタウン自体が総じて)演出、飾りが上手い。細かい予約制もなく、人員もやたら配置してる訳でなく懐の深さを感じる。

Experiencia fantástica: 特別展「歌枕 あなたの知らない心の風景」開催中の東京ミッドタウン・サントリー美術館を訪ねました。複合商業施設の中の美術館ですが、それをまったく感じさせないレイアウトと館内のしつらえは、日本を代表する建築家・隈研吾氏の仕事。ミッドタウン全体のコンセプトとの統一感がありながら、美術館を入った時に感じるわずかな緊張感と高まる期待感は、隈デザインの思う壺なのでしょう。確かな知識と審美眼により編集された「歌枕〜」展も見応え充分。猛暑をおして訪ねた甲斐がありました。

Experiencia fantástica: リニューアルしてから更に素敵な美術館になりました。 まさに、美を結ぶ、ひらくに相応しい展示内容です。 また、ミッドタウン内とのこともあり館内はシックかつモダンな感じで非常に落ち着く空間です。 現状はコロナの関係で、入館制限かつ前売り制なのでゆったりと落ち着いて鑑賞できました。

Experiencia fantástica: Suntory museum of art. Located in midtown Tokyo Roppongi. Medium sized art space but it has many Master pieces of modern Japanese art like ceramic ware and Ukiyo e painting. Very quiet and clean.

Experiencia fantástica: I went there to see an exhibit about Japan culture (Information or Inspiration). How they present it is quite different, but deeply makes sense.

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful, modern, elegant museum. Saw the “Daigoji Temple: A Shingon Esoteric Buddhist Universe in Kyoto” exhibition in Autumn 2018. Entrance fee for adult is ¥1500, but a “set” package with English audio guide (recommended! Gives great insight.) is ¥2050, a ¥50 discount from purchasing separately. Audio guide is 2 hrs total time. Some exhibition pieces will vary over the duration of the display. Recommended for aficionados of Japanese Buddhist sculpture from the Heian and Kamakura periods. Exhibition is smaller than others in Tōkyō of the same price, but, IMHO, worth the expenditure. Again, the audio guide is worth the ¥450/500 yen you’ll spend because of the quality explanations provided and because it will force you to take your time and enjoy the gallery of treasures displayed. The Dainichi-kyō sutra commentary hand-written by Kōbō Daishi was one of my favorite pieces. No photography allowed inside. Staff was wonderful.

Experiencia fantástica: Very fancy museum within Tokyo midtown. Use a student card to get a discount. Small by UK museum standards, but very Japanese in style - beautifully maintained to a very high standard. The gift shop is excellent too - very tasteful selection of goods.

Experiencia fantástica: Exquisite venue for art exhibition. Just watched the Glass from Qing Imperial Collection. Glass collection well lighted and presented. Enjoyed a lot.

Experiencia fantástica: One of my favorite museums in Tokyo, beautifully designed galleries and just the right size. Some exhibitions focus on crafts like glass or porcelain that I'm not so interested in, but it's also put on revelatory exhibitions of relatively obscure but important artists or on interesting themes. The biggest plus for visitors is that there is always an English (and maybe Chinese?) audio guide available, which is worth it if you really want to know more about what you're seeing. Unfortunately, not all major museums in Tokyo make the same effort. On the same floor of the shopping mall are a number of stores selling Japanese crafts and products, so can get some eclectic souvenirs as well.
