Experiencia fantástica: The Museum of French Archeology, which was founded under the name of the Museum of Comparative Sculpture, is a specialized museum of antiquities and architectural heritage in France. It was founded in 1879 by Eugène Violet-le-Duc, and it was established after the closure of the Museum of Comparative Sculpture. The first museum in 1816 in the French Revolution to collect what could be salvaged after the destruction of the great architectural heritage that was destroyed during this period. The museum contains important collections of castings, paintings, and life-size reproductions of the masterpieces of France's architectural heritage. Once the old Trocadero palace, the museum is now located on the Chaillot hill in front of the Eiffel Tower and on the banks of the Seine. The museum occupies one wing in the Chaillot Palace in Paris, and in this wing there are three galleries. One of these galleries is called the Davidod Gallery and contains large castings along with the Carlo Gallery. The gallery is a fine example of modern and contemporary architecture. Murals and stained glass are at the end of the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Architecture and are presented over two levels over two large floors. There is a library and halls for temporary exhibitions. The contents of the museum The collection of models originally comes from the Louvre, which was established in 1794. The architect Violet-le-Duc headed the Commission for Historic Monuments, and took advantage of the restoration projects to make many castings for the museum that were made of plaster, sometimes mixed with fibers, then called the staff. These collections were supplemented by Paul Deschamps, curator of the museum in 1927. The first copies of the most important historical pieces (brackets for example) were produced. Many French models and antiquities were copied as if they were the real ones and brought to the museum in their full size. Some examples of models shown: Gate of the Monastery of Saint Fortina de Charleau. Gate of Notre Dame de Chartres Cathedral. The main gate of the Abbey of Saint Pierre de Moissac. Gate of Saint Lazare Church of Afyon. An 11th-century mural of the Saint-Étienne-Auxerre cathedral. A 12th-century wall model of the Church of St. Schaff. Wall model of the dome of the Cathedral of Saint-Etienne de Cahors. Models of pieces from the cathedral of Saint-Etienne de Sens. Models of historical French palaces. Models of demolished French historical buildings. Models of famous French bridges. Models of French squares and monuments.
