Experiencia fantástica: Una stanza bellissima in un bel museo purtroppo poco conosciuto e non sempre facile da visitare (orari non molto amichevoli). In pochi lo sanno ma qui é conservato il ciclo di affreschi arturiani più antico d'Europa. Realizzato alla fine del 1300 nella torre di Frugarolo, é stato scoperto alcuni decenni fa in condizioni critiche. Asportato e restaurato é ora qui esposto. Un pezzo importante per la storia e la cultura europea, imperdibile per gli amanti del medioevo, di Re Artù, Lancillotto, Ginevra e del Mago Merlino. Nella sala sono anche conservati pezzi delle antiche chiese e chiostri della città che sono andate distrutte nei secoli. Con il prezzo del biglietto si può visitare tutto il museo con le sale dedicate a Giovanni e Teodolinda Migliara e tutto il resto.

Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting. We were also there to see the G.Pellizza da Volpedo exhibition, but unfortunately there was only the work "the drowned"... However, it is worth going considering the very modest price of the entrance ticket. A place of great culture that I didn't expect in Alexandria...which is often associated with industry.

Experiencia fantástica: The municipal art rooms are now open to the public in the restructured premises which have housed the museum, the civic art gallery and the library since the second half of the 19th century. Renovated in terms of furnishings and exhibition structures, the museum itinerary offers some of the most important works and art objects belonging to the collections of the Museum and the Civic Art Gallery. The rooms are divided into four exhibition sections: The Middle Ages and communal civilization offers a reflection on the civic identity of the city and its roots, and houses the splendid cycle of frescoes inspired by the stories of Arthur: here the visitor becomes the reader of a grandiose visual chivalric poem; The nineteenth century, revisited through the charm and light of Giovanni Migliara's painting; The twentieth century, seen through the work of the Alessandrian Alberto Caffassi; The last room hosts temporary exhibitions. The increase in museum collections, starting from the second half of the 19th century, is evidence of the close link between the city and the museum institution: the Art Rooms are the center of cultural information in Alessandria, but also a place of memory and enhancement of the present.

Experiencia fantástica: Very small but splendid museum. Here you are going to find the landscape painting of XIX century. But the main treasure of museums is the cycle of the frescoes dedicated to Sir Lancelot painted in last decade of XIV century. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod. Highly recommend for the visit.

The museum itinerary, with renewed furnishings and exhibition structures, intends to offer the public some of the most important works and art objects belonging to the collections of the Museum and the Civic Art Gallery. The new venue divided into four exhibition sections, as well as proposing a reflection on the civic identity of the city which sees its roots in the Middle Ages and in the municipal civilization, welcomes the splendid cycle of frescoes inspired by the stories of Arthur. The nineteenth century revisited through the charm of Giovanni Migliara's painting and the twentieth century represented through the work of the Alessandrian Alberto Caffassi, anticipate the exhibition of contemporary works of art that have joined the collections since the 1920s. This last room is also used for temporary exhibitions.
