Experiencia fantástica: Super
Experiencia fantástica: Good walking around holidays .. plenty of sights ,,, latte and crepes
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting stories and artifacts about different ways of exchange in early days. A beautiful building - August entry is for free - with a beautiful boutique for souvenirs !!!
Experiencia fantástica: A numismatic paradise in the heart of Paris The Musée de la Monnaie is a treasure trove of history and art that any coin or medal enthusiast would be thrilled to discover. From the moment you step into the elegant building, you are transported to a world of intricate designs, intricate engravings, and fascinating stories. I was absolutely blown away by the quality and diversity of the exhibits, which cover everything from ancient coins to contemporary pieces. Visitors are treated to a feast for the eyes and the mind, as the museum offers both stunning visual displays and informative labels that explain the context and significance of each item. The ambiance is quiet and refined, making it easy to fully immerse yourself in the experience. The service is excellent, with knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any questions and guide you through the collection. What makes the Musée de la Monnaie truly special is the opportunity to witness the artistry and craftsmanship that goes into creating these miniature works of art. The museum features a workshop where you can watch skilled artisans at work, using traditional techniques to produce beautiful medals and coins. I cannot find any fault with this museum and would give it a perfect score. My only suggestion would be to offer more interactive exhibits or hands-on activities for children, but this is a minor point. I would highly recommend the Musée de la Monnaie to anyone interested in the history of money, art, or both. It is truly a gem in the heart of Paris. To the owners and staff of the Musée de la Monnaie, I would like to express my gratitude for the exceptional experience you have created. Your passion for your subject shines through in every detail, and I left feeling inspired and enriched. I would definitely consider returning and hope that others will take the opportunity to discover this hidden gem.
Experiencia fantástica: It was very good, I recommend this to you !
Experiencia positiva: Very intresting boutique and a good place for workshops. The permanent exhibition has a lot to share but the layout the main building is not very practical nor logic.
Experiencia positiva: More than a thousand years of history about France's currency and some interesting information about how they produce the coins and even pieces of art, like bronze sculptures and reliefs. They also have some lost and found treasures. I happened to see also a temporary exhibition about different types of currency in other cultures and it was amazing.
Experiencia fantástica: Really surprised by this museum (and the temporary exhibition as well). Very informative, tons of interesting stuff to learn and artifacts to discover. There is also a worker (engraver) who shows you the process of designing a coin.
Experiencia fantástica: Nirvana for anyone interested in coins, medals, and the materials that make them.
Experiencia fantástica: Good for children and adults. Very interesting.
Experiencia fantástica: Loved it, if you are collector of coins must visit about the history of coin and its making process.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellently designed and maintained, you get to print your own coin(not your design though), worth visit If you are a coin enthusiast take atleast 2 hrs for the museum and 1 hour for the boutique
Experiencia fantástica: highly interesting museum
Experiencia fantástica: So cool museum, I would not recommend it for people who came just for a few days but if you have some free time, you should come. It’s medium size and it has some interactive activities. You should take the opportunity if you Can of buy one coin as a souvenir.
Experiencia fantástica: Great Museum. Also wonderful for childs.
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting museum.
Experiencia fantástica: I really liked this place, you will learn history and currency evolution
Experiencia fantástica: I loved the experience. You can find here unique pieces of the history of money, as well as learn on how the mintage process has evolved over the ages.
Experiencia fantástica: We had a bit of a hiccup finding it. It's a shared building (-a restaurant). But all in all, it was a fantastic visit. For people who are interested in history of minting and production of money, this is for you. Let me tell you a little secret: if you're lucky, you'll get to mint your own money and take it home with you
Experiencia fantástica: The only museum with the interactive tools for the visitors during this pandemic. Most of the written description are translated in english. I would love to revisit Monnaie de Paris.
Experiencia fantástica: It's a governement organisation but takes the order to fabricate souvenir.
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting and lovely museum, the demo and explanations given by the medal engraver is a fantastic moment.
Experiencia fantástica: Kiki Smith is a wonderful artist and her exhibition is a presentation of her Dreamworld in a full spectrum of all art media in an amazing space !
Experiencia fantástica: If you have time, this Museum it is very interesting!
Experiencia fantástica: fascinating place, a lovely engraver explained in detail made the visit complete. ended up buying a coin.
Experiencia fantástica: The museum is good and educational. A slow self guided tour is a great way to wait out the rain or some alone time. While I was there, they had a extra exhibition of Kiki Smith. It was excellent.
Experiencia fantástica: This place was great. Not as busy as a lot of tourist stops. Hands on exhibits, history, and more.
Experiencia fantástica: A really arty place. Refreshing collection from different artists and styles. You never know what is waiting for you after the next corner. Great curators!
Experiencia fantástica: Interesting and beautifully presented - metallurgy, mechanics, coins and loads of history - big & small
Experiencia fantástica: The Monnaie de Paris is one of my favourite museums. - Its main focus is, as the name suggests, the manufacture of coins, both regular currency as well as commemorative coins. In addition, the Monnaie de Paris is also responsible for the production of official medals. Hence, the permanent exhibition focuses on the subject of metals used in coins, the history of money (including its production) and the production methods today.
Experiencia fantástica: Less imposing than other Parisian museums we saw delightful cutting edge show on Grayson Perry. Corridors and labyrinth of spaces and riverside views makes it a great film shoot/photography location too. Helpful staff. Just around the corner from famous St German cafés and galleries.
Experiencia fantástica: Great. Very interesting and very knowledgeable and helpful staff
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent Museum. The staff really made it, they were amazing and knowledgeable and ready to help.
Experiencia fantástica: Came here with an avid collector of coins. Guarded and watched by heavy security, we had our bags checked before admission of entry. Totally worth a visit. Coins available at the time of our visit were world cup 2018 coins, special designs by renowned Jean Paul Gaultier, disney specials, etc. There's a paris monnaie museum across the shop too. Grab some french minted coins as souvenirs, it's worth it.
Experiencia fantástica: This is one of the most underrated sites we visited. I researched the Conti 11 before arriving to Paris and our visit did not disappoint. There is a lot to see here and it’s never crowded, we did not visit the exhibition portion as we were tired and pressed for time, but the museum portion was extraordinary. There are also interactive exhibits which is mainly for kids but my husband and I enjoyed them as well. We went on a Saturday and it was not busy at all really quiet and peaceful, the only downfall was that the windows showing the workshops had no people working in them, I assume this would be even more interesting to see the people working on site. Still very cool. The current exhibit is on until February of 2020, seen some of the artists work online, worth seeing if you have the time, visiting just the museum portion is 10 euros and museum plus exhibit is 12 euros. Classy little gift shop on the way out. Will certainly go back next time. There is a little something for everyone.
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum and good programmation for temporary exhibitions
Experiencia fantástica: If you are interesting in numismatic, you must visit this museum!
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing museum, you definitely should not miss it. Try to go there on the few days a week when actual craftsmen show you how metals are produced
Experiencia fantástica: First visit and would highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: Founder Grayson about feminity create a variety approach with his work of art.
Experiencia fantástica: Superb (a lot like the RA in London)
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic exhibition by subodh GUPTA on display now
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely Museum and no crowds
Experiencia fantástica: Great contemporary art exhibitions here
Experiencia fantástica: First time, totally impressed!
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent Maurizio Catellan exhibition. Beautiful space, unusual setting. The delicate attention of a dedicated booklet for the kids can't hide the fact that some of the works can be troubling for a young public.
Experiencia fantástica: You can buy very original coins in gold or silver
Experiencia fantástica: Cool expositions, less crowded than lots of museum in Paris
Experiencia fantástica: Coin collectors dream. The shop of the France national mint - the oldest working mint in the world
