Experiencia fantástica: I'm going to give this place 5 stars because it was fascinating, free, and centrally located. We tried to go at 10:00 in the morning on Sunday, when the listed hours said it opened, but there was no one inside. We waited about fifteen minutes before wandering off to try again later. We came back around 11:00 and it was open. The woman at the desk told us she had opened at 10:45. So maybe don't visit as soon as they open, but it is definitely worth it. They also have some really cool photo books to view, if one needs a breather from walking around all day.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent if not well known tourist spot and for dubliners too, exhibitions don't change too often.

Experiencia fantástica: The National Photographic Archive of Dublin is located in Meeting House Square in Temple Bar. It houses the photographic collection of the National Library of Ireland, with over 630,000 photographs. The National Library of Ireland’s National Photographic Archive (NPA) is home to the world’s largest collection of Irish photographs. This collection has been acquired through purchase and through generous donation. While most of the collections are historical there are some contemporary collections. Subject matter ranges from topographical views to studio portraits and from political events to early tourist photographs. The NPA is an award winning architectural building. The NPA opened in October 1998. Since then some 50 exhibitions have been hung in the NPA gallery, a number in collaboration with other institutions like the annual PhotoIreland Festival and the Dublin Institute of Technology Graduate show. Exhibitions are open seven days a week and they are free to visit.

Experiencia fantástica: Located in Temple Bar, the National Photographic Archive is home to over five million photos. There are regular exhibitions of archive material showing the places and people of Ireland from the mid nineteenth century to the present. Some exhibitions show archival material alongside contemporary images such as Pamela de Brí's 'Cycling the MGWR'. Free entry and always worth a visit.
