🗣️ Excavaciones de Pompeya (entrada Piazza Inmacolata): Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Delicious place to have a quick bite before going to the ruins. Service was good, food was easy and affordable and they have outside seating. Just loved the convenience of it !
Experiencia fantástica: Definately worth a visit, but any type of guide is a must. I highly suggest booking tickets in advance. To see everything, you'll need a full day (7-8 hours id say). To see only the highlights, a minimum of 2-4 hours is advised. The official audio guide at the entrance is quite dry and has no headphones nor Bluetooth service for your own headphones, but definitely better than no guide at all. It also has a gps tracker, and as the archeological area is a heavy mess, it helps a lot. Two bathrooms in the whole area, one food provider.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing place where you can see and beathe history
Experiencia fantástica: We spent an entire day here, and the sensation was that there were a few things left to see. It's a huge roman city where you can have a very good idea of what living in Roman times. The city was buried in ash during the eruption of the vesuvius volcan in 79AD. There are loads of streets with houses, stores with the frescoes still visible. The thermal area is very well preserved, and you can still walk around and inside the Amphitheatre. There are statues, columns, and artefacts, there are "fossilised" plastered bodies from the eruption, etc.. Inside they have bathrooms and a food place as well.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing experience. I recommend to bring sunglasses as it can be a bit dusty at times in the wind, a hat, suncream during the summer, and a water bottle. There are lots of drinking water fountains scattered throughout the ruins. At the moment they are running a discounted fare of €3 per person for EU citizens who are aged 18 and up and are under 25 which is fantastic (under 18s are free and those aged 25 and up pay €19, which is still a good price for everything you see). Discounted fare had it's own queue but the normal queue moved quickly, we arrived at about 11am on a weekday. I didn't think a tour was necessary and we saw everything we wanted to see at our own pace. Highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely place to visit...
Experiencia fantástica: It's breathtaking, heartbreaking, awe inspiring and jaw dropping. It's Pompey, and it's a must see...
Experiencia fantástica: Must visit place in in Pompei if you are visiting the Napoli coast! You can spend the entire day here roaming around these rimuins. It is a great place for historical enthusiasts. A tip for photography- Wear bright colored clothes for great pictures! You can biy the tickets on the line instead of online.
Experiencia fantástica: Has a lot of eateries around and it's good
Experiencia fantástica: Pompeii is a wonderful ancient city. It is a very pleasant place to visit. You can get off at the Pompei train station and walk to the entrance of the city in 10 minutes. On your way to the entrance, you pass through many souvenir shops. I recommend that you take a hat and water with you for sightseeing. Places where gladiators fight, theaters, wonderful houses, roads, squares and much more. Enjoyable walks. Entry price is 18€. The first Sunday of every month is free to enter. And there is a leftluggage at the entrance where you can leave your luggage.
Experiencia fantástica: Brilliant! The maps could be easier to read
Experiencia fantástica: We arrived close to 9am and it was quiet and no queue to buy tickets. We bought a tour book from a nearby tourist information centre and thought as two fit adults would easily complete the 6 hour book guided tour. How wrong!! The place is huge. Top suggestion: Don’t wear sandals/flip flops (I did and am good on my feet and struggled) Take a lot of water Take food (only one place to get food, sandwiches were good, but had to queue for a long time) Arrive early and expect annoyingly large tour groups that have no issues with blocking the whole walk way and are ignorant to anyone else! The site is amazing. So humbling to realise how civilised and architecturally intelligent the romans were over 2000 years ago. To be able to jump back to that time in such a scale was awesome. Not sure if you can buy a two day pass but I would look into it if I had my time again as doing two 4 hour visits would, I think, allowed us to fully absorb the sites at a comfortable pace.
Experiencia fantástica: The most friendly staff ever! They saw our young son in his wheelchair and pulled us out of the long security line, escorted us through, and took us to the accessible entrance. They have their "Pompeii for All" program with mapped out routes that are wheelchair accessible, but we found many areas not yet on that map that have also been made accessible. One of the employees even stopped us out in the middle of the ruins and suggested (in perfect English!) a better route to take our son. Our experiences with wheelchair accessibility around Europe have been really hit and miss, but this place shines! Also, you can book the free ticket for both the disabled person and the helper on the website where tickets are purchased.
Experiencia fantástica: No words I write can do this place justice - knowing that several 1000 people died here some in AD79 is sobering, but seeing that the people of this time were far more sophisticated than we likely give them credit is a great education for young minds. The volcano looms large, but knowing it only had a single peak back then, which was blown off during the eruption, must have been mind blowingly terrifying for all residents during the hours leading up to and during the main event. Pompeii puts you in perspective if you can out yourself in someone else's shoes momentarily.
Experiencia fantástica: Pompei is just amazing. The feeling of walking on the streets of a 2000 year old city is unique in the world today. In no other place you will find such a vibe and well perserved ancient city due to the well known "vulcanic" reason. I visited in april 2023 and as such it was not as crowded as, say, in the middle of the summer, therefore it was easy to buy tickets locally on site, with just 5 minute queue. If you arrive by train, keep walking and dont buy tickets near the train station as those guys are resselers... just keep walking to one of the official site entrances and buy a ticket for 18 euros as of today.
Experiencia fantástica: 5 stars is not enough
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing worth a visit.
Experiencia fantástica: There are two vending machines for the entrance tickets in front of the gate. If you don't want to waste your time for waiting in the line to ticket office. Help yourselves.
Experiencia fantástica: A truly unique experience. Time travel in the past and see with your eyes how ancient Romans used to live, what they used to eat, how they used to train both body and mind. Parking at the nearby Sanctuary costs only 2 euros for the day. An audio guide in different language costs 8 euros. However, you might want the entrance ticket online in pick periods to beat the queue.
Experiencia fantástica: A historical location, that provides outstading information on the art, customs etc. Definitely worth a visit. But because it's so big and so hot in the summer, I wouldn't suggest going then.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing!! Is all Roma's imperious history
Experiencia fantástica: Easy to get, very well signaled and has luggage storage. Nothing to complain.
Experiencia fantástica: Use this entrance as there wasnt a queue at all. As you exit the station [Stazione Ferrovie dello stato Pompei] people will try to tell you they want to give you a free guide. Ignore them. As you walk towards the entrance there will also be people on the road lying to you that this is not an entrance. If you stop to listen to them they will start by trying to sell you an audio guide then continue to sell you a "fast pass". Just ignore them and keep walking.
Experiencia fantástica: Pompeii is one of the places I think you must visit. I have been twice, once in December and once in June and I highly suggest a December trip if you can make it. In June it is hot and very crowded, in December we felt like we had the entire city to ourselves. You need about 4 to 6 ours to really explorer this city, depending on how fast you walk. Also, before you get in beware of all the tour guide traps, don’t listen to them, just keep walking. When you arrive by train taxi’s will try to give you a ride to the city (it’s a 5 minute walk to the gate) if you accept they will take you to the far gate which can be good because you can walk through the city and exit by the train station, up to you.
Experiencia fantástica: Tikets in February are 15€. There was no long line. The check in was fast. There are restrooms. Audiotours are available for about 8€. There you will find tour guides as well which you hire separately. I did not hire a tour guide so I am not sure of their prices. Make sure you ask for a free map after you pay and Study it so you know what you want to see and not waist time or get lost (it feels like being in a maze). Be respectful by controlling volume of voice and by not touching the monuments.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing place, you won't miss it at least once in a life!!! This entrance is the most convenient because far from the crowd of tourist bus.
Experiencia fantástica: This is an amazing place. I've been here 3 times and there is always something new that you'll notice or pass by. Definately must see.
Experiencia fantástica: Imperium Romanum! It’s definitely worth visiting. The area is pretty big. You should plan at least three hours to see everything and enjoy the Ancient Pompeii!
Experiencia fantástica: My suggestion to convert Pompeii into a learning experience versus the selfietorium maximus that it is, put the guy at the gate selling tiny OJs for 4 euros in jail and raise entry tickets from $15 to $95 bucks which would immediately reduce crime against refreshment seekers and cut down drastically on the rabidly witless crowds.
