🗣️ Museo y Galería de Arte de Perth: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: The only disappointing aspect of this fabulous museum experience was that we had totally underestimated the time required to see it!❤️ There is a 3,000-year-old wooden boat. (I kept thinking: 'This boat was around during the reign of King David of Israel!) There are cup-marked ancient standing stones and historical displays of trades and tools. Supremely, there's a FREE separate display for the Stone of Destiny. (Yes, it's the actual one!). NB You have to book ahead to be/join a small group to see the introductory immersive AV experience, then the Stone itself. We only had 45 minutes and it was not nearly enough! We are going back soon, we hope, to spend at least a good part of a day there.❤️ Positive suggestion to the authorities: the £5 booklet on sale nicely features the main displays but it would be lovely to have the option of a larger illustrated version.
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to visit, and at no cost
Experiencia positiva: Definitely worth a visit if you're in Perth.
Experiencia positiva: Not big, couple of interesting gallery's. Could do the whole thing in under an hour.
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely visit!
Experiencia fantástica: Good to see Scottish artist Sir John Millais paintings represented at the Gallery.
Experiencia fantástica: New gallery close to town centre now exhibiting works by J D Fergusson previously at the Fergusson Gallery. Toilets Cafe and Shop Recommended.
Experiencia positiva: All display are good and free to visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Very educational. Very thorough and rich history information. Loved the interactive technology to engage all ages. Can see alot of people enjoying the challenges creating lots of laughters. I personally loved all the short labels for each artifacts. Highly recommend for all ages.
Experiencia fantástica: Open and free good size space lovely staff
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent new museum, with a rich and diverse display of items spanning all of Scottish history. Lots of fun pieces to interact with and a really thoughtful presentation style with informative descriptions and stories.
Experiencia fantástica: You will need to give yourself plenty of time, for your visit.there is lots to see and read about the gallery, something for everyone. the staff are excellent and are very friendly. I would recommend it to everyone. Nice place .thank you.
Experiencia fantástica: Charming small local public sector art gallery with work by artists connected to the area. Includes room for children's activities. Very friendly helpful staff. Has small area in foyer for hot drinks
Experiencia fantástica: A small but very interesting collection of Scottish art with some surprising classics that make for a memorable visit. The art hanging on its walls is only a small part of its permanent collection, making repeated visits a must. The friendly staff can help you with information about the paintings on display.
Experiencia fantástica: I enjoyed my visit to this Gallery. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Experiencia fantástica: Varied collection. 17th century to Scottish modern. Very interesting, friendly helpful staff. Free entry.
Experiencia positiva: Went to both exhibitions. I enjoyed part of the Unicorn one but the 2nd floor was a bit poor. Looked like a lot of the exhibits had been picked up from local charity shops.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice museum located in the centre of Perth, with plenty to see and a respectable range of galleries.
Experiencia fantástica: The Fergusson gallery is a real treat and certainly worth the visit
Experiencia fantástica: Magnificent neo classical architecture. Disappointed by extremely loud pink interior paint. A softer rococo pink would be much more in keeping and less cheap looking.
Experiencia fantástica: I have always enjoyed a visit here. Our museum in Perth for many years and now Perth's Art Gallery. So lucky to have this lovely building. I was amazed on a visit how much had to be kept in storage due to shortage of suitable display space. i look forward to visiting the new museum and continue to visit the Art Gallery.

Experiencia positiva: Colouful and vibrant, some fabulous art on the walls with informative narration on each piece. Gorgeous unicorn room for the children to create and interact. Loved our visit to the Perth Gallery
Experiencia positiva: Very pleased that Perth Art Gallery will flourish and expand with the Museum having moved to what was City Hall. Fergusson Gallery has already been incorporated into the Art Gallery, with more art space to be developed soon. An opportunity to display more of their excellent collection!
Experiencia positiva: Pretty cool place, can’t wait to see how it looks without the renovation works
Experiencia positiva: A bit of a let down.i was expecting some amazing paintings.Modern art is not really my thing and there could have been a lot more or perhaps something special to see.So much space that was wasted but clean with a cafe and a kids area.
Experiencia positiva: This gallery is now solely exhibiting a couple of rooms full of Turn Of The Century to modern day works. Sadly there is way more space that has not been utilized efficiently, so you are left feeling a little underwhelmed. They could have far more programs for aspiring curators and local artists.
Experiencia fantástica: Even tho most of the gallery was closed, we had a great time and are looking forward to come back once it is fully reopened. The staff was very welcoming and I won't give any spoilers but you should check the art in the loos!
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent museum. Always worth popping in.
Experiencia fantástica: Friendly staff.. Kids enjoyed a lot
Experiencia positiva: Great place to go to kill an hour or two for the day and best part is it is free. Although donations are welcome they are not mandatory.. Family friendly. During my most recent visit we were informed the museum is now renovating into the art gallery and are awaiting the new opening next year. Although it's quite different to our last visit there was still plenty of rooms and areas to see. There was also a fun Victorian day on where the kids could dress up, attend school 1800s style, practice old writing on slate and with ink pens. The gallery is well maintained and are are all clean, access to extra information is available aswell and staff are very helpful.
Experiencia positiva: The Art Gallery is in a transition phase and was interesting for a short visit with some excellent activities for children.
Experiencia negativa: Nothing to recommend this Museum and Art Gallery. I saw everything in 5 minutes. Years ago you could spend ages looking at many exhibits and enjoy return visits but now there is very little to see and nothing to warrant a return.
Experiencia positiva: They have a room for kids that is OK but it stays the same all the time and nothing changes. The rest of the art gallery is very adult lead but has some beautiful pieces. Ashame half of the art gallery is shut off to the public
Experiencia positiva: Friendly staff but find their knowledge limited. The gallery seems to be transitioning as some rooms were closed, but hopefully, everything will improve and become a 'must-see ' attraction for the city. Nb.Please do not cover the entrance columns with wrap around art. The columns are with a clean, beautiful by themselves
Experiencia negativa: Sometimes have interesting things on but so much more could be done to engage people
Experiencia positiva: Enjoyed the exhibits, particularly the lost village of Muirton of Ardblair.
Experiencia negativa: Didn't check Perth Council website so discovered on arrival that the place is shut until April.
Experiencia fantástica: 2 very interesting exhibitions just now. The city hall artistes from decades ago and Muirton of Ardblair, the vanished village
Experiencia fantástica: You can have a great day learning something new. A wonderful and peaceful place.
Experiencia fantástica: A Well presented display despite being in the throws of relocation foe most of the exhibits.
Experiencia negativa: It's closed except coffee shop. Check website and not google for coffee shop opening hours. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Experiencia fantástica: Excellent free museum, with enough to interest visitors of any age.
Experiencia negativa: Checked google maps to plan this for our trip. Said it would be open on Tuesdays but come to find out it’s the opposite way round. Really needs updated
Experiencia positiva: A nice cosy traditional museum. Happy to visit it every few years when in Perth. Central location. Relaxed staff.
Experiencia fantástica: The Museum provided a superb resource in Perth and the Going to the Dancing exhibition is a great reflection on Perth through the years.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice wee museum. Not on the same scale as places like Edinburgh, but well worth a visit, and it's free.
Experiencia fantástica: What a great gallery, a really good selection of modern Scottish art carefully curated to explain the context of each.
Experiencia positiva: Not much of a museum, but in reality an Art Gallery. Pleasant and interesting enough to warrant a couple of hours. Present exhibition of art with sin is worth a look
Experiencia fantástica: Small but interesting combination of works, and a really relaxing space. Will visit again after the set up the Stone of Destiny exhibit
Experiencia positiva: Friendly staff, spacious and uncluttered, only complaint would be lots of dark paintings difficult to appreciate because of the (reflective) glass covering.
Experiencia fantástica: Really friendly staff and interesting art work. Great children's interactive art area as well, the grandchildren loved it!
Experiencia positiva: We went in at 15:32 on a Saturday but the gallery was already closed. What a pity! We could visit the shop, have a drink at their cafe but It’s a pity that the gallery was closed this early. The art gallery shop is small but has got what you would expect in a gallery shop Good customer service at the shop and comfortable seating area around
Experiencia positiva: Beautiful building with excellent art, especially Modern Scots and 17th century artworks. Extensive reorganisation due to relocation of museum pieces but will be worth another visit.
Experiencia positiva: Lovely wee art gallery. Spent a good hour wandering around. Staff really nice and informative about building and recent changes.
Experiencia fantástica: Love the kids learning area with soft play, etch a sketch, paint markers and play dough. ❤️
Experiencia fantástica: I liked it there , as well as my family
Experiencia fantástica: Had a lovely time here, good Disabled access and no issue's with our service dog for T been allowed access. Friendly staff and wonderful exhibits
Experiencia fantástica: Perfectly well rounded museum and gallery, loved finding out more about Perth and wider Perthshire! Particularly enjoyed the new exhibition which focused on Perth nightlife over the past 70 years, on til Dec '22. Thoroughly recommend!
Experiencia positiva: Pleasant and interesting little place to pass an afternoon. The kids enjoyed the craft section and rest of the galleries were well curated if small.
Experiencia positiva: A small but really excellently curated exhibition. I loved the sculpture in the pink domed room. A bite-sized treat of a gallery at present.
Experiencia fantástica: It was my first visit as part of an evening talk. I had an opportunity to look around the recently refurbished museum and gallery. A wonderful space and beautiful collection. Also loved the kids space, definitely a place for me to take the kids soon. Good accessibility to the building with a wheelchair lift.
Experiencia fantástica: We're visiting Perth on short notice and today was a rainy day, so we decided to stop by the gallery (knowing nothing about it) so we could stretch our legs. We were very impressed. Our boys loved the creative area set up for kids (as did we). It was well thought out and inspired them to make and create. The shop was lovely and, in particular, has a great selection of books for kids and adults. I especially loved the selection of titles on Perth history and art. The galleries are limited at the moment, but they were perfect in every way all the same. The galleries are beautiful rooms, the artwork is gorgeous, and the tags and additional information printed on the gallery walls were interesting and thought-provoking. Some of the artwork had two tags and I found out the second set were written by students at a Perth school. What a great project, and enrichment for visitors to the gallery! You can even get a peek into the room where artwork is carefully packed up ready for when the new Perth Museum opens next year. What a treasure this gallery is!
Experiencia fantástica: Nice wee gallery, but loads to see. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lovely range of products in the gift shop. The toilets are worth a visit, excellent murals
Experiencia fantástica: A very nice Museum&Art Gallery. Might be crowded at times, but totally worth it!
Experiencia fantástica: Very interesting and good for kids
Experiencia fantástica: The staff were very friendly and welcoming, nice sized museum and art gallery and some interactive areas for children.
Experiencia fantástica: Delighted to find it open at 1000 on Sunday - last chance to see touring art exhibition 'Sin' - featuring artists from Cranach to Emin. Very helpful gallery staff and informative permanent displays telling local history and environment.
Experiencia fantástica: My partner took us there for the good Joan Eardley paintings. I enjoyed the whole gallery and collections. Might be described as a typical Scottish Council-run museum with strong local orientation complete with fossils and stuffed birds. I don't agree with the reviewers who described the museum as small - I'd call it middle sized. There is a lot to see here and it's all well presented and free to visit.
Experiencia fantástica: An interesting and wide-ranging museum. Great way to while away an hour or two, with something for everyone. Many other things in Perth were closed due it being the off-season but glad that this was open. Worth seeing.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice little museum to pass an hour.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice day out to well worth visiting
Experiencia positiva: Lovely local museum with interesting local history. Lovely staff
Experiencia fantástica: small but well laid out museum. Lots of interesting stuff.
Experiencia fantástica: Good museum plenty for children to look at and things to do
Experiencia fantástica: Was absolutely brilliant and kids had a great time looking through the train expedition x
Experiencia positiva: Great free museum and art gallery, with varied exhibitions on local history and helpful staff.
Experiencia positiva: A bit smaller than expected. Well laid out. Did feel that there was a bit too much simplification of the displays.
Experiencia fantástica: Great wee visit. Kids loved it.great wee play area too for toddlers
Experiencia fantástica: Absolute gem of a place well worth a visit such a wide variety of exhibitions shame we didn't have all day in Perth to do it justice
Experiencia positiva: 2 rooms were closed due to changing exhibitions but what we did see was good
Experiencia positiva: Enjoyed the exhibition about the Romans, interactive games, exhibits and wall building for kids. Soft toy animals to search for in animal exhibit.
Experiencia positiva: Went to the space exhibit, and loved it! Definitely recommend - plenty to do for young children.
Experiencia positiva: Well worth a visit to give kids and adults some history/knowledge. Enjoyed and helpful staff
Experiencia positiva: There is a Roman artifacts display on at the moment abd some of the silver dishes are amazing. Well worth a visit when in Perth
Experiencia fantástica: Loved it! Was a bit small, but everything had so much information it was well worth the visit
Experiencia positiva: Lovely museum and gallery in the centre of Perth. A wide variety of artefacts and an area for kids too. Small but lovely gift shop.
Experiencia positiva: It is a really good place for a family to visit with young children as v interactive n child orientated. As a pair of old fogeys, not so great for us n all a bit random.
Experiencia positiva: Very interesting only popped in quickly Must go back soon and take a good look
Experiencia positiva: Lovely place to spend a few hours. My 7 year old loves it. Excellent train exhibition as well as Shadow World. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Experiencia fantástica: Staff were very friendly and kind and kids were having fun listening to all the animals in the wildlife section. We also loved the opportunity to vote for our favourite artifact in our 'save if there was a fire' gallery.
Experiencia positiva: Small but interesting collection that focuses on local history and nature. There are also temporary exhibitions, so worth checking what's on regularly. For most people a visit if around an hour would be plenty time. The majority of the building is accessible by wheelchair.
Experiencia positiva: Friendly staff. Exhibits of railway history, some natural history and watercolours painted by Beatrix Potter. Interesting shadow mobiles and that's about it!
Experiencia positiva: Lovely museum. A lot of thought has gone into making it interactive and interesting, especially for kids. Free to enter (donations only). Not everything worked (mini catapult and scenes of the area) but didn't detract from the enjoyment. Amazing boat thousands of years old. Definitely worth a visit. Covid safe with everyone wearing masks
Experiencia positiva: Small but decent gallery. Look out for the Carpow bronze age boat hollowed out of a log 3000 years ago.
Experiencia positiva: Super little gallery, helpful staff, varied exhibitions, clean and bright, covid secure, good for kids too. Loved the train section as we're on a train holiday!
Experiencia fantástica: Best place to know about Perth history. If you want to know the entire city history then do a visit. It's good source to learn about the history. If you are in Perth, please make sure to visit once.
Experiencia fantástica: Great museum in middle of town - good exhibitions. Would ofliked to see otherPictish stone - stop hiding them Scotland!!! They are your history!!
Experiencia fantástica: This is a great visit. We were met on entry by a friendly and helpful member of the museum team and given a useful briefing. The museum is very well curated with a collection that will appeal to all interests and ages. The permanent collection has some remarkably good pieces. The special exhibition when we visited covered the many aspects of SIN and was well presented and well thought-out. The museum also has a small gift shop focusing more on quality than quantity (hand-crafted soaps, artisanal chocolate etc) and toilets. I would happily visit again. Thank you Perth Museum
