Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely fantastic place, presenting the life and work of the surrealist painter. Concept of the museum very well done.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this little museum. The other museum, in the center of town is great to see a lot of real works, but this museum, the former house of Magritte, still has the atmosphere of it's former owner, and his wife, in it. It makes you feel closer to him, and there is so much to see on every floor. A lot of objects and some interesting copies. A hidden Gem!

Experiencia fantástica: House of the painter like he lived there. You can visit all the rooms, inspiring view from the window to Atomium, garden,...

Experiencia fantástica: Loved the museum! It is definitely different from visiting the museum near the Royal Palace, but it is an amazing opportunity to see how Magritte lived and where his pieces were created.

Experiencia fantástica: This is Magritte's house. Very interesting to see! Do not forget to also visit the Magritte museum (with the works), place Royale 1 Brussels

Experiencia fantástica: Very welcome

Experiencia fantástica: Unusual, this small house in Brussels is worth the detour. Friendly welcome, explanations from the people on site (students and adults frankly pleasant)

Experiencia fantástica: A wonderful discovery!! First of all a multitude of works. Paintings, sculptures, sketches and objects by abstract artists then the discovery of Magritte's work and place of life. His story, his wife, his artistic work including reproductions of paintings destroyed during bombings, fires,... An extremely rich journey in 2 adjacent houses. To discover absolutely!! A little marvel. The visit was just brilliant and the welcome matched the beauty of the place.

Experiencia fantástica: Nice museum, nice staff! Strongly recommended!

Experiencia positiva: Nice, small museum in Magritte's former home. It showcases his life and features recreations of some of his artwork that was lost in WWII. A good complement to the Magritte Museum downtown. The Museum of Abstract Art next door is small but has a nice selection, though Magritte's style is more my type.

Experiencia positiva: This is René Magritte’s home in Jette, not to be confused with the the large Magritte museum in the centre of Brussels. As such, it’s a small and intimate place to visit and is focused on Magritte’s life. When we visited, we were the only people there. It’s an interesting place, with objects from Magritte’s life, his paintings (and replicas), and also includes a modern art exhibition in the neighbouring building. If you have mobility problems, this is not the place to visit as you need to climb up and down several narrow staircases.

Experiencia positiva: It was okay, but they didn’t have a lot. I was expecting a full-on museum, but I suppose it was my mistake to go without researching first. All in all a cool experience, just don’t go expecting much

Experiencia fantástica: The museum is on 3 floors, the exposition starts from the 3rd floor, there the early period, the middle period of creativity is more recognizable on the 2nd floor and on the first, his most famous works. Audio guide in French, Dutch and English only I highly recommend visiting.

Experiencia fantástica: A museum that seems to me little known in the capital (not to be confused with the museum in the center of Brussels): this is the apartment occupied for many years by Magritte. Reconstructed furniture, many personal items, reproduction of lost works! The adjoining house offers an interesting Museum of Abstract Art (included in the entry ticket), mainly by Belgian authors.

Experiencia fantástica: We visited the museum with our children (7y and 8y). I would definitely recommend taking the audio guide for the kids with it. He gave some more explanation of a number of paintings, in a playful way and was pleasantly spoken. The children, like us, thought it was surprising and very beautiful.

Experiencia fantástica: A nice little museum. Magritte's house.

Experiencia fantástica: To visit the apartment that Magritte occupied for 24 years is to meet the painter in a different way.

Experiencia fantástica: We loved this. Abstract art was great and Magritte's house is just surreal. The tram journey to get there is part of the experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Impossible to go to Brussels and not visit it. Reconstruction of the career, thought and other small aspects of the artist's life that are often not detected

Frédéric Guillaume 2 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Rene Magritte's sobriety and extravagance told. Beautiful exhibition of abstract art.

Experiencia fantástica: homely' experience. Nice to know he actually lived there. Shame about the little parking

Experiencia fantástica: We really liked this museum which happens to be a house of René Magritte himself. It was interesting to see the painter’s intimate universe. The ground floor reproduces the house as inhabited by Magritte; the floor is dedicated to an exhibition on the artist, some of his works as well as those of other artists close to Magritte. We recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Place to be for abstract art, or if you want to visit Magritte's house!

Experiencia fantástica: Former home of the painter who lived there for several years on the ground floor. Upstairs, various works, including some reconstructions of paintings that have been destroyed over the years.

Experiencia fantástica: Very nice visit. We start with the abstract art museum, which then offers a passage in the neighboring house, the one that René Magritte rented

Experiencia fantástica: Super interesting duo of Museums, to discover! Wonderful collection of abstract art!

Fernanda Lazzarotto 3 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: The house contains not only part of the furniture conserved as in Magritte's life, but also shows drawings, letters, photos and paintings that amazingly reproduce work that has been either missing or destroyed. The visitant receives a guide that explains all the pieces in display and the staff are friendly and willing to explain. Great experience!

Experiencia fantástica: Great staff for an amazing afternoon performance between Magritte, jazz & poetry! What a way to #ComebackBrussels! Highly recommend for an afternoon visit to Jette!

Experiencia fantástica: To be visited if you like the painter, great insight on his life

Experiencia fantástica: Very good to know more about magritte work. I missed some classic paintings that were not there as "lovers", "man's son".

Experiencia fantástica: The museum for abstract art, the M.A.K. / M.A.A., in Jette, Esseghemstraat 135, is an absolute must! The Belgian museums fail to show the Belgian abstract art of the first and second generation, from 1914 to 1975. This is corrected here. Top works that have been brought together by André Garitte with great diligence and excellent taste. In a carefully renovated building that is attached to the Magritte House.

Experiencia fantástica: The other Magritte Museum. It's not just a house where Magritte lived, there is now an exhibition space. Small regret: it is accessed more by pushing the button of the bell "Magritte"

Experiencia fantástica: Love it!!!

Marc Gélis 4 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: A very friendly staff and a very interesting place! It is impressive to imagine the painter and his wife living on the ground floor of the house, totally furnished as originally. The upper floors are now pieces of exhibition that trace the life of Magritte: personal items, sketches, watercolors, posters, photos ... Superb!

Experiencia fantástica: You do not believe that Belgian surrealism was born here If you want to know Magritte, you must have been here. Magritte rented the ground floor of a terraced house in Jette. The curator has succeeded in decorating the house, usually with the original furniture, as it was when he painted his greatest works there. you do not believe that Magritte painted his best and most famous works in this petty-bourgeois milieu The house is supplemented with the first museum for abstract art in Belgium. ALL THERE WOULD SAY

Ufuk Sarı 4 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: Where you will notice that surrealism is the art of everyday life.

Béatrice SIBI 5 years ago

Experiencia fantástica: House where Magritte lived for 24 years with his wife Georgette. Very nice reconstruction of his daily life with authentic objects and furniture and above all passionate guides who give you the impression that he was still there yesterday. In a place to discover absolutely !!

Experiencia fantástica: If you are an admirer of the painter René Magritte, this is a must visit. In the house you will have access to various personal objects, artistic references and more intimate information about the artist. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. The visit to Magritte's house should be made in conjunction with the Magritte Museum, which is located further into the center of Brussels. Highly recommended. :-)

Experiencia fantástica: It is about 10-15 minutes on foot from Panunui Station. It is a line of ordinary private houses, but I think you can see it immediately because there is a small signboard. There is a bell on the right side of the door, so if you sound it twice, the staff will come to pick you up. You can borrow a Japanese version of the commentary file. The third floor does not seem to be visible depending on the day. If you like Magritte, you can enjoy the works on display. There was a small shop where SABENA pottery and postcards were sold. If you can't speak English or French, it can be a little difficult to communicate.

Experiencia fantástica: This small unpretentious house is to be visited by all Magritte lovers. Indeed we find lots of details that are found in his work. His studio and his advertising work are beautiful discoveries.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the birthplace of Magritte! You shouldn't come to expect the art gallery ~ I'm the one who got confused right away :) However, the staff are so glad to inform you so much! The museum is located in the center of Brussels and the Royal Museum, so don't get confused ~

Experiencia fantástica: House of the Belgian surrealist artist.

Experiencia fantástica: We arrived in front of the door and we have intercom Magritte, it was afternoon, around 17.00. This young girl opens us, I had to ask if that was really Magritte's house because for a second we thought we had the wrong address. Each room has elements that can be found in his paintings and the museum itself provides a brief guide to identifying them. Also noteworthy are the works on the upper floor, the mythical "destroyed", reproduced paintings that somehow have been lost over time.
